Charting the Course for Student Ministry

I want to personally invite you to be at worship this Sunday evening, August 1, at 6 p.m.  We want to talk to you about our “interim plans” for our youth ministry.  Please share this letter with your parents/guardians – and bring them along.

Here’s a heads-up on some of the topics:

  • Our ministerial staff and Youth Advisory Team will be working with you to keep all of our programs and activities alive and vibrant.  We’re committed to giving you our very best.

  • Rev. Rick Baumgarner will be the “interim” point leader in youth ministry.  He is the one on our ministerial staff that you will go to if you have any questions.  He will also work very closely with youth music and will be the staff liaison to the Youth Advisory Council.

  • Dr. Owen Robertson will be shepherding the Youth Sunday School Ministry and Wednesday night worship for youth.

  • I, your pastor, will be shepherding the Discipleship group ministry.  I will also work very closely with the Search Team for Minister of Students.

t·       The Youth Advisory Council will be charged with planning and implementing youth events beyond the regularly scheduled weekly activities.  For example, they are taking the lead on planning the Youth Fall Retreat.

On Sunday evening, we will update you on the progress of implementing the Search Team for Minister of Students and discuss a host of other very important issues.  We will also want your feedback.

During this interim period, we want to love on you as a youth. Our ministerial team is committed to giving you our very best.  We will not be perfect!  You know that!  But we want to do our very best for you to the glory of God!  It will take all of us working together!  That means you, your parents, and the entire church!  But we can do it together with God’s strong leadership!

So, please make every effort to be present THIS Sunday evening at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.  If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me (979-8706 or jadams@efbc.org).

Your Pastor,

John Adams
