Spring Into The Arts

Spring Into the Arts provides a new way for the Music Ministry of First Baptist Church to inspire children to discover and use the gifts God has given them. We believe that the classes offered will involve even more children than our graded choir program. It is for both First Baptist children AND children in the community.

Spring Into The Arts is a FREE 6 week program that meets on Wednesday afternoons from 5:30 – 6:20 beginning April 11.

Class options are offered for 3 separate age groups:

  1. Preschoolers (K3-K5 completed)
  2. Younger Children (grades 1-2 completed)
  3. Older Children (grades 3-5 completed)

Each child will select ONE class to attend all 6 weeks (April 11, 18, 25, May 2, 9, 16). Please see the class options in registration form below.

Spring Into the Arts will conclude with a Celebration Service on Wednesday evening, May 16, at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary. A celebration meal will be served that same day, from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. The cost of the meal is $7/adults and $5/children. Register your family for the meal below. You will then pay at the door the day of.

K3 - K5 Classes

FunArts for Kids This class will offer a variety of experiences introducing children to many aspects of the arts including sponge painting; coloring, drama, and crafts.

1st and 2nd Grade Classes

Chiming for Beginners An introduction class to reading music and ringing handchime instruments.
Junkyard Percussion Nothing excites children more than learning to play percussion instruments. This class demonstrates how the simplest of things can be used as percussion instruements. A junkyard percussion piece will be played at the end of the session.
Stick Drama and Dance This class combines music and dance into a powerful means of sharing the story of grace.

3rd - 5th Grade Classes

Photography Learning how to use your camera will be the goal of this class. Children will learn how best to visualize and capture the perfect memory. Children will need to provide their own camera for this class.
