Everyone gathering growing going
Welcome to Easley First Baptist. We hope you'll take the opportunity to visit with us in person for worship and Bible study. One of the best ways to get to know us is through our growth group ministry. Through growth groups you'll be able to study God's word, fellowship with believers, and reach out to one another. Everyone needs a family who knows them by name. We'd like to invite you to be a part of the family of God right here at Easley First Baptist. Ours is not a perfect church; however, we do know the One who is perfect -- our greatest desire is to focus on Him and to honor Him. He is the head of this church. We hope to meet you this Sunday.
Who We Are
Our goal as a family of faith is to have “Everyone Gathering! Everyone Growing! Everyone Going!”
This is a God-sized vision. It will take all of the family working together. It will take a lot of intentional planning and determination. It will take the Spirit of God transforming us into the very body of Christ.
Everyone is invited to Gather at the table of Christ; to Grow as we’re nourished; and to Go out to invite others to come to this life-giving table.
After several years of planning, in 2015 Easley First Baptist Church dedicated and opened our new youth and children's building. We also renovated our chapel to make a beautiful music suite for our choirs and music ensembles. Along with renovations, we updated our adult education building. These buildings are a launching pad to reach Easley and our world for Jesus!
EFBC moved to our current location at 300 East First Avenue in 1952. We added a prayer room in 1995. In 1997, we built and dedicated a new sanctuary. Our original sanctuary become a chapel and remained a chapel until our renovations in 2014.
Easley First Baptist rebuilt in 1921 across the railroad tracks from our current location for $25,000-30,000. The last service in this building was January 20, 1952.
Easley Baptist Church's second building was built in 1909 but sadly burned down in 1917. They met in a school auditorium for 4 years while deciding where to build again.
November 9, 1873 a council of Baptists met to consider organizing a Baptist Church at Easley. The council declared it duly constituted and Easley Baptist Church was started with 12 charter members. Easley Baptist Church was constructed in 1874.
