Day 4

We all woke up excited about our trip to the Schlitterbahn water park today. Well, at least most of us did!. You reach a point in your life when putting on a swimsuit in front of a bunch of teenagers is not an experience you relish.

However, it did not take much to get the kids out of the bed this morning.

Our drive from Houston to New Braunfels took about 3 hours with a stop for lunch at Freddy’s Steak burgers.

We got into the park at noon and all the students and most of the adults enjoyed the park. We left at 5:50- ten minutes ahead of schedule! We had one adult who brought only half of her swimsuit and had to sit out. I think she enjoyed the breeze and had a chance to catch up on some of the sleep she has lost.

The drive to San Antonio took only about 50 minutes and we arrived at our hotel about 7:00 pm. We’re staying downtown so we were able to walk to have a meal on the River Walk. Our group split into about 5 separate groups for supper.

After eating, we all met at San Fernando Cathedral to watch a music and lighting presentation portraying the history of Texas which was projected onto the front of the entire cathedral. It was beautiful!

Once we returned to the hotel, Alex McCall led our devotion. Positive Notes were given out to everyone and we reviewed our plans for Wednesday.
