Day 1
After a long day on the bus, we arrived in Louisville around 4 o'clock on Saturday afternoon.
We had a brief rest before dressing and re-boarding the bus for a short drive to the Louisville Slugger Field where we sang the national anthem at the Louisville Bats baseball game. The students did a great job singing and we stayed for all nine innings of the baseball game. The weather was perfect: shade and cool breezes off the Ohio River.
After the game, we remained to watch an acrobatics show in the stadium and a fabulous fireworks display out over the Ohio River. When we returned to the hotel, David Marion Day led us in a devotion about letting Christ's light shine through us. Perhaps the most anticipated part of each day is the distribution of our notes of encouragement, this year called chrysalis cards. This gives students a chance to be encouragers to one another and point out the blessings they see in one another's lives. It was a wonderful start to our choir tour.
