Even though it was a little warm as we gathered to start loading the bus, the rain held off and allowed us to get everything packed for the Bridge Tour 2019. Ellison Batson led our gathering at the bus and our pastor, John Adams, led a prayer before boarding our blue Ionosphere bus. We are not carrying as much equipment this year so we finished quickly and were able to leave the church parking lot about 9:50 a.m. There were a few misty eyes from a few first time tour participants and their parents. We promise that the trip will provide a good opportunity for each of us to encounter the Lord through the faces of those we meet on tour. Pray that we will be bridge builders all week long.

Fortunately the rain held off when we awoke this morning in Charleston. There was some slight drizzle but most of it came after we had loaded the luggage onto the bus. After breakfast we gathered at the bus. Sully introduced our day, led us in saying our creed, and said a beautiful prayer as we began our day.

I spoke too soon about the wonderful hotel we stayed in at Wilmington. At 4 o’clock this morning we woke up and found it was nearly 80° in our room. We had to change to a new room at 4 AM. We were the only ones who were affected by the HVAC problem. The hotel really was beautiful.

Our day began with a good breakfast at Holiday Inn Express this morning. We sang for a relatively large crowd at breakfast this morning. The 2 women who prepared breakfast for us asked if we would come back and sing every morning. They loved it.

Sweet Sarah Cooper began our day in Williamsburg on Thursday morning. We lined up, counted off, and Sarah reviewed our day and then lead our recitation of the Bridge Tour creed.

Jon-Michael McJunkin started our day with his big booming bass voice after we enjoyed the best breakfast of the tour. It was in the mid 50s when we gathered together at the bus this morning. It really felt wonderful. After reciting the creed and having prayer, we loaded the bus and headed to Natural Bridge, about an hour and 10 minutes away from Charlottesville.
